I struggled a bit with this one, but I wanted to do an illustration with harder lines and colours, but tried to add in the marker brushes. I think it might not be as visible as it could have been, but it adds a bit more texture and depth than if it was without.
The opposites attract feature in this illustration would be the sharp, rough dragon skipping a race with his brothers to relax in hot spring.
I got a lot of inspiration from japanese culture and illustrations from this one, thinking about older japanese paintings along the way. I didn't look up any references while doing this, but the mountain in the back is very similar to Mount Fuji.
